The Proof Research 308 BA Stainless Steel Blank Barrel 28" 9 Twist (Medium Sporter) was created for Bolt-Action and Semi-Auto Rifles with the same commitment to quality and repeatability as their carbon fiber barrels. Utilizing the same drilling, rifling and lapping process as Proof's composite barrels, the process begins with a double stress relieved, 416R, pre-hardened chromium stainless steel blank. Proof's Stainless Steel Barrels are specifically designed by engineers to provide consistency, high quality and durability that shooters demand.

Proof Research Stainless Steel Blank Barrels are equipped with features that include; machine ability for gun drilling and reaming, exceptional polish-ability for uniform lapping, a micro-structure that responds to heat treatment to provide a uniform hardness along the barrel length, a marriage of high tensile strength with requisite toughness, that will withstand extreme chamber pressures during firing, along with excellent erosion wear and corrosion resistance.
